KOCHI: Global Ocean, the international marine conservation charity, has launched its eight coastal clean up beach billboards for Fort Kochi beach. The 4x3 recycled marine plywood billboards will be posted along the seafront at Fort Kochi from the children’s playground at Vasco da Gama Square to the Old Lighthouse Bristow Hotel beach.
The billboards feature protesting sea life characters which have been designed by Sameer Sojwal, Chirayu Palande and Gururaj Rao from Ogilvy India.

Slogans such as 'Don't Feed me Plastic' and 'Plastic Bags Are Bad For My Health' have been translated into Malayalam for these boards.
The billboards have been hand painted by up-and-coming artist Sujith VT who has worked at the Kochi Muziris Biennale with Jonas Staal.
Melanie Salmon, founder of Global Ocean says “We love these fishy characters as they appeal to the children who will inherit this beautiful Fort Kochi coast. With the children we can make a better future for all of us as they are also part of the solution against the problem of plastic debris.”
